انخفضت حيازات سندات الخزانة الأمريكية إلى 9.27 تريليون دولار خلال ديسمبر، مقابل 9.36 تريليون دولار في نوفمبر، وفق بيانات صادرة عن وزارة الخزانة الأمريكية. حيازات سندات الخزانة الأمريكية وأظهرت البيانات، بحسب رويترز، تراجع حيازات اليابان من الديون الأمريكية إلى 1.19 تريليون دولار مقارنة مع 1.20 تريليون دولار في الشهر السابق، مع استمرارها كأكبر حائز أجنبي لسندات الخزانة الأمريكية. كما خفضت بريطانيا حيازاتها إلى 866 مليار دولار مقابل 889 مليار دولار في نوفمبر، في حين حافظت الصين، ثالث أكبر حامل للسندات الأمريكية، على محفظتها شبه مستقرة عند 683.5 مليار دولار مقارنة مع 683.9 مليار دولار في الشهر السابق. العوائد على السندات وشهدت عوائد سندات الخزانة الأمريكية ارتفاعًا في أوائل ديسمبر قبل أن تستقر في نطاق ضيق خلال بقية الشهر، وذلك عقب قرار مجلس الاحتياطي الفيدرالي خفض أسعار الفائدة في العاشر من الشهر ذاته.
