«الشيوخ الأمريكي» يقر إنهاء الإغلاق الحكومي
صوّت مجلس الشيوخ الأمريكي يوم الأحد على مشروع قانون يهدف إلى إعادة فتح الحكومة الفيدرالية وإنهاء الإغلاق الذي استمر 40 يوماً. وأدى الأغلاق الحكومي إلى تعطيل عمل الموظفين الفيدراليين، وتأخير المساعدات الغذائية، وعرقلة حركة السفر الجوي. مجلس الشيوخ كما أقر أعضاء مجلس الشيوخ مشروع قانون سبق أن أقرّه مجلس النواب، سيتم تعديله لتمويل الحكومة حتى 30 يناير، ويشمل ثلاث حزم اعتمادات مالية سنوية. وإذا أقرّ مجلس الشيوخ النسخة المعدلة، يتعين أن يصادق عليها مجلس النواب ثم تُرسل إلى الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب لتوقيعها، وهي عملية قد تستغرق عدة أيام. وبموجب اتفاق تم التوصل إليه مع مجموعة من الديمقراطيين، وافق الجمهوريون على إجراء تصويت في ديسمبر بشأن تمديد الإعانات المقدّمة بموجب قانون الرعاية الصحية “أوباما كير”، وذلك بحسب مصدر مطّلع على المفاوضات، وتُعد هذه الإعانات أولوية ديمقراطية في معركة التمويل. كما ينصّ القرار على التراجع عن بعض قرارات فصل الموظفين الفيدراليين التي اتخذتها إدارة ترامب خلال الإغلاق، وتمويل برنامج المساعدات الغذائية “SNAP” لمدة عام كامل.California's billionaire tax: What's at risk for the biggest state economy in America
