ترامب يلمح بإقالة رئيس بنك الاحتياطي الفيدرالي
قال دونالد ترامب، الرئيس الأمريكي، أن هناك مرشح معين مفضل لديه لرئاسة مجلس الاحتياطي الفيدرالي الأمريكي، لكنه ليس في عجلة من أمره للإعلان عنه، كما أشار إلى إمكانية إقالة الرئيس الحالي للمجلس جيروم باول. وصرح ترامب، في مؤتمر صحافي رداً على سؤال حول ما إذا كان لديه مرشح مفضل: “لا يزال لدي مرشح مفضل، ولم يتغير رأيي، سأعلن عنه في الوقت المناسب، لا يزال هناك متسع من الوقت”. وأضاف أن باول “يجب أن يستقيل” وأنه “يرغب بشدة في إقالته”، وكان الرئيس الأمريكي قد سعى لإقالة باول في يوليو الماضي، لكنه تراجع بعد ردود فعل سلبية في الأسواق المالية، وفقاً لوكالة الأنباء الألمانية “د ب أ”. المرشحين لرئاسة الاحتياطي الفيدرالي الجدير بالذكر أن كيفن هاسيت، مدير المجلس الاقتصادي الوطني، هو المرشح الأوفر حظاً، مع أن ترامب أبدى اهتماماً أيضاً بكيفن وارش، عضو مجلس محافظي الاحتياطي الفيدرالي السابق، ومن بين المرشحين النهائيين الآخرين محافظا الاحتياطي الفيدرالي الحاليان كريستوفر والر وميشيل بومان، وريك ريدر من شركة بلاك روك. وفي وقت سابق قال وزير الخزانة الأميركي سكوت بيسنت إن هناك مجالاً لإعادة النظر في هدف مجلس الاحتياطي الفيدرالي للتضخم البالغ 2% مستقبلاً. وقد أدلى ترامب بتصريحات غامضة عديدة، ومتناقضة أحياناً، حول عملية اتخاذ القرار بشأن رئيس البنك المركزي الجديد، وكان الرئيس قد صرح في وقت سابق من الشهر الحالي بأنه قلّص عدد المرشحين إلى مرشح واحد، لكنه قال لاحقاً إنه يفكر في عدة مرشحين، وأشاد بالعديد من الأسماء الواردة في القائمة المختصرة.Dollar Erases Early Gains on Weak US Economic News
