Multiple people were killed in a shooting Monday in a corporate office building in Midtown Manhattan, according to media reports. The New York Police Department posted on X that the scene “has been contained and the lone shooter is dead.” Mayor Eric Adams said in a video posted on X that there was a shooting with “multiple injuries” and that the shooter was “neutralized.” CNN reported that four people, including an NYPD officer, were killed. It also reported that the suspected shooter, tentatively identified as a 27-year-old from Las Vegas, was dead from what police believed to be a self-inflicted injury.
